sketch 219.

another great sketch to challenge your creativity this week over at Scrapbook Challenges.
i have had a thing for stars lately...that being after my circle craze - shapes really are so versatile, so i loved doing this layout. i used some older pics of my dalmation Bailey...and still have a whole bunch to scrap of him.

and here's what i did with the sketch...i started off with white card stock and spritzed with brown ink to take away some of the intimidating whiteness. i then added a centre piece of patterned paper, rounded the corners and added some sewing around the edge. next i place my stars cut from various pieces of patterned papers and self-made textures using different supplies. some grunge board stars got a coating of gold paint dabber and glaze.

i added a star over the 'o' in my title for some dimension and interest. shapes inside of other shapes is a great way of adding interest and getting rid of those empty spaces.

texture created on my star using acrylic paint and sewing.

and diamantes for added colour.

head on over to scrapbook challenges to take part in some other great challenges and you can win BIG prizes this month!
