And here is my layout i created for the bloghop
I started off by creating a photo matt for my photo to sit on using Co'ordinations cardstock that i embossed using the Who What Wear Pretty in Pink embossing folder and then lightly sanded the top edge. I used the Cross hatch chipboard element and painted it with a layer of acid yellow paint followed by some stamping in black permanent ink. To spread the chipboard element a bit further to peak out the other side of my photo i simply cut it in half and then adhered it to my layout.
My photo hid the open space left by the cut chipboard so i was happy, while it peaked out the other side just a bit more.
To create a decorative border I cut the Art Deco Border several times. I used some of the cuts as a border at the bottom of my layout and the left overs were cut in half along the length and used on the edge of my layout.
To create my title i used the Adventure lies around the corner phrase and embossed it using 2 different colours of embossing powder. I cut the Art Deco Border several times in different colours and used the coloured bits and popped them right back into the cut out pieces for a colorful border. I added some Gemstones to the border using my craft knife.
To create my title i used two colours of embossing powder one on the upper and one on the lower half of the title.
After heating the embossing powder to melt, i waited for it to cool down and then added a layer of gold burnishing paste with my finger.
I then heated the chipboard phrase again and as the embossing powder heated and started to melt again the burnishing paste started to seep into the embossed layer. this gives it a beautiful mottled effect with shine (hard to photograph and capture) - quick and easy!
A few cut out flowers, stenciling and embellishments finished off my layout!
And here are the wonderful products i used for my layout
